We are excited to be hosting our 24th Annual Ice Fishing Derby on Sebago Lake this year, keeping in mind that the Big Bay, although iced over this year, is still not considered safe. The lower bay and Jordan Bay have fishing out there now, but we also want to make sure that everyone stays safe, checks ice depth, and checks often, as conditions can change quickly. However, the organizers have discussed that with the impending storm on Sunday, it is best to cancel the Sunday portion of the derby.
The sleet and freezing rain on top of the snow expected is our greatest concern for visibility and safety not only for our fishermen but also for our volunteers. We hope you understand, and we apologize for any inconvenience. Saturday should be a great day and we hope to see you then!
