What is the Fish Pool?

Every togue, pike, perch and pickerel caught during this year’s Derby will serve as one entry into the Fish Pool drawings. Each angler must enter their own fish at the weigh station.

Why award prizes this way?

Our Derby serves as an important fisheries management tool for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (MDIFW). The prize structure was developed in consultation with MDIFW Fishery Biologist to encourage the harvest of invasive Northern Pike and to moderate the abundance of Lake Trout. The harvest information we provide is an important element in their efforts to manage freshwater sport fishing in Sebago Lake.

We highly recommend that each angler bring address labels (stickers) to expedite the Fish Pool entry process. If you prepare them yourself, please include the phone number you registered under.

2026 Fish Pool Prizes

The 2026 Derby Fish Pool Prizes will exceed $12,000.00, but not exceed $22,600.00 (State Law). All registrants (whether you fish or not) will be entered for the 2026 CASH PRIZE of $5,000.00. (Rotarians and/or their immediate family are not qualified for the grand prize.)

DISCLAIMER: If Sebago Lake is deemed unsafe due to ice conditions, the cash prizes for togue and pike will remain in the charitable fund.

Every fish weighed gets a chance to win! WE WANT YOUR PIKE! Please note changes to the 2026 criteria for Pike!

  • Pike Prizes*: Pike MUST be caught in Sebago Lake ONLY! The 2026 Pike Prize is for most fish caught, NOT for size and weight! Bring all Pike to the Raymond Beach weigh station for counting and tracking. Pike rules are no limits the most fish caught will win 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.
  • Perch Prizes**: White or Yellow Perch in Perch Fish Category – We weigh your top 6 and the remaining may be donated
    and entered for a prize drawing.
  • Togue Prizes***: Togue MUST be caught in Sebago Lake ONLY! Prize will be determined by weight and length. An additional drawing will be held for all Togue caught and donated. No bag limit for Togue under 26 inches and no minimum weight limit. Only one may equal or exceed 26 inches.
  • Fish Limits: Limit of 6 fish for togue, perch and pickerel species per day to weigh for cash prices. Remaining togue can be donated and entered for a special drawing. Only one extra ticket per togue for donated fish per day.  No limits on donated fish*. (Perch, Pickerel, Pike, Togue)

Registrants can donate their catch which will be processed through Nova Seafood in Portland, Maine. Containers are available at each weigh station and each fish donated qualifies to be entered in a supplemental drawing for prizes.
